Media workshops announced for Guatemala and El
Salvador
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 9, 2008.- A workshop for
the media covering the beach volleyball tournaments in Guatemala
and El Salvador will be conducted by Dr. Roosevelt Comarazamy, the
NORCECA Press Officer.
The workshop is being coordinated by the FIVB Regional Development
Center in the Dominican Republic and the support of the NORCECA
Confederation, while the exchange with the media will be organized
by the National Federations of those countries.
Prof. Nelson Ramirez, director of the development center,
considered both beach volleyball events as ideal vehicles to relay
the media of those countries the information about the way FIVB
and NORCECA handle their operations with the press.
He also acknowledged the support and enthusiasm received from Mr.
Cristobal Marte, president of NORCECA, in order to realize this
initiative.
Mr. Comarazamy, who has been the NORCECA Press Officer for the
past five years, informed that the workshop will comprise the
following items:
Reports and description of the matches, the importance of using
the statistics, the organization of the press room, VIS system,
guidelines for photographers, and for the press directors and
press delegates.
Also, the workshop will include: the importance of the press for
the development of volleyball and beach volleyball as a major
sport, the FIVB image, the impact of internet among other topics.
