Cuban pairs looking for good things in Guatemala
HAVANA, Cuba, April 12, 2008.- Cubans Ion Canet-Nirian Sinal and
Leonel Munder-Yoendy Kindelán are preparing themselves for the
second phase of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit in Guatemala
City on April 18-20 where they look to maintain their podiums.
The women tandem hope again to dominate their opponents as they
did in the tour’s opening competition on the sands of Boca Chica,
Dominican Republic and continue their lead in the rankings, since
this tournament grant points for the Central American and
Caribbean Games of Puerto Rico in 2010.
Meanwhile, their fellow countrymen will attempt to repeat last
year’s performance of Cuba when the same Central American site
hosted the second leg and the pair of Kindelán-Yuniesky Ramírez
grabbed the gold at the popular Complejo Deportivo Campo de Marte,
in the downtown area of the Guatemalan capital.
This time Kindelan repeats, as he hopes, now along with Munder, to
erase the lackluster image they left in Boca Chica where they
finished in fifth place in the opening of the Second Tour of the
North Central American and Caribbean Confederation.
