Successful workshop for the media in Guatemala

 

GUATEMALA CITY, April 18, 2008.- A workshop addressed to the media covering the second leg of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit in Guatemala was conducted by the experienced journalist Roosevelt Comarazamy, the NORCECA Press Officer.

 

Comarazamy was introduced to the participants by Mrs. Marta Centeno de SAJCHÉ, General Secretary of NORCECA, in the presence also of Mr. Nelson Ramirez, Executive Director of the Confederation.

 

The exchange with the media touched a variety of issues related to Volleyball and Beach Volleyball on items as the organization of the press conferences and the working press rooms, guidelines for press directors and photographers, description of the matches, the use of stats produced by the VIS, and also the FIVB and NORCECA as the governing bodies of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.

 

A similar workshop is planned to take place next week on the occasion of the third stop of the NORCECA Circuit in El Salvador.

 

Mr. Comarazamy, who has been working in the journalism field for nearly forty years, has been the Press Officer for NORCECA since the beginning of 2003. His resume includes duties as international correspondent for several press agencies and twice has been recognized as “Sport Journalist of the Year” in his native Dominican Republic.
