What the coaches said before the start in Guadeloupe

The technical meeting of the Seventh Caribbean Junior Volleyball Championships took place at Hotel Fort Fluer d’ epee.  After the technical meeting the coaches had their say and expectations:

Trinidad & Tobago- Gideon Dickson (Male Team): Our team composes of some players from 2007 and we are working hard to improve on our last performance in UD Virgin Island.  We believe we can do well in this tournament and I would like to wish the other teams best of luck”

Essil Seecharan (Female team): “Our girls will play as defending champions even though the 3 best players are not here but they are very competitive, physically and technically. We are very happy to be here to defend our title.

Barbados – Andrew Culpepper (Male and Female team): “Team Barbados (men and women) are here to win this tournaments, even if our players are very young we expect to do well. Guadeloupe seems to be a tough team with tall players but we will aspire to win gold in both men and women”

Martinique – Michakael Tramis (Male team):  we come here to win the tournament since our team has good defense and strong servers”

Aymeric Christine (Female team): We have never reached the podium in this tournament but we hope to reach the medal stand.  I believe the Trinidad and Tobago will be our strongest opposition.

Guadeloupe – Jean Louis Delag (Men and Female teams): “We have a revenge to take from losing the gold medal match in the last tournament in USVI and we hope to do one place better this time at home”. We have a new  programme for our women team and we anticipate it will bear fruits in this tournament.

Bahamas - Joe Smith (Delegation Head):We had a rough time getting here and we almost did not make it because of visas problems but we are not going to let that upset us.  We will play well and cause some eyes to open in this tournament and we hope to be going home with medals”.
