Manual for medical doctors working with National Teams 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, February 27, 2007.- The Medical Commission of NORCECA will prepare a manual to be followed by doctors currently working or helping the different National Federations, informed Dr. Andres Pina del Rosario, president of the commission.

The Manual will consist of recommendations about how to deal with the athletes’ physical conditions before, during and after competitions, and several matters such as the load of training and recovery from injuries.

During the one-day meeting it was also reported on the doping tests conducted in all the NORCECA major competitions last year and the alcohol tests for all the referees who conducted the matches.

The meeting was attended also by doctors Jose Collazo of Puerto Rico, Bernard Nau of Haiti, Oscar Torres of Cuba, Zlatko Piskulich of Costa Rica, Norberto Santiago of Puerto Rico, Pedro Fernandez Zucco Victor Figueroa and Donibal Alvarez of Dominican Republic William Briner of United States and Anyl Gopeesingh of Trinidad & Tobago.
