Twenty from NORCECA promoted to International
Referees
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, February 28, 2007.- Twenty
referees from NORCECA have been promoted to the category of
international by FIVB informed Mr. Tom Blue during the
presentation of his report to the Refereeing Commission of the
Confederation on Tuesday. The group includes two female members.
Cuba and USA, with six and five individuals respectively, are the
countries with the biggest number of the new licensed referees.
Canada and Dominican Republic follow each with two, and Mexico,
Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Panama and Trinidad & Tobago are
represented with one.
Cuban Lourdes Perez and American Julie Voeck are the female
referees approved by the Refereeing Commission of FIVB.
The new International Referees are:
Ricardo Borrota, Duran Duarte, Frank Medina, Pedro Morel, Josmer
Perez and Lourdes Perez of Cuba, Paul Albright, Christian
Genitrini, Hansen Leong, Julie Voeck and Kevin Wendelbow of USA,
Scott Borys and Scott Dziewirz of Canada, Juan Ruiz Jimenez and
Julio Martinez of Dominican Republic, and Dennis Franceschini of
Puerto Rico, Daniel Gonzalez of Mexico, Azad Khayyam Hosein of
Trinidad & Tobago, Raul Mejia of Guatemala and Carlos Quintana of
Panama.
