SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, February 6,
2010 – The VIS and Statistics Commission of
NORCECA held its inaugural meeting chaired by
Mrs. Judith Sandino of Nicaragua.
The purpose of this commission is to promote the
development of the info system around the
countries of the Confederation and to establish
a data base of facts and figures of teams and
players during their participation in the
different competitions.
The members discussed the use of the two liberos
format in some competitions and the joint work
of the VIS delegates and Press Delegates in the
tournaments and elaboration of the daily
bulletins.
NORCECA has been developing a series of VIS
Courses in different countries and recently one
was held in Curacao on the occasion of the
CAZOVA Youth Tournament.
The participants of the meeting included Yanida
Pascual and Bienvenido Mateo of Dominican
Republic, Octavio Morgan and Lorenzo Ramírez of
Mexico, Monica Paul of United States, James
Pierre Orson of Antigua, David Mephon of
Guadeloupe and Rigel Colon From Puerto Rico.
