Training camp for youngsters in Bermuda

HAMILTON, Bermuda, January 22, 2010 - Puerto Rican top volleyball coach Juan Cartagena will share his vast knowledge with Bermuda's future players at the Island's first ever Bermuda Volleyball Association Youth Camp.

The camp will be held at Cedar Bridge Academy, running from February 8 to 12 and will give students aged 12 and over the opportunity to learn basic volleyball skills. No prior experience is necessary.

Cartagena, a Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) level three coach, has previously worked with the Puerto Rico junior national team, and is taking part through the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) development program designed to popularize the sport within its member organizations.

While in the Island, and in addition to the youth programme, Cartagena will be running training sessions for the men's and women's national teams.
