Results of clinics starting to show after three
years
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 8, 2007.- If the third
time is when it counts, this was the most successful year for the
annual international volleyball clinics for physical education
school teachers given by members of the coaches and technical
commission of NORCECA.
“We can appreciate the progress obtained by the physical education
teachers that have been taking part for three years now,” said
Cuban Eugenio George Laffita.
“The sport is part of the education of our boys and girls, and the
physical education teachers play an important role in the
beginning of the athletic careers of our future stars,” said
George. “But the most important thing is to educate them and make
them good citizens with good health and the sport is a key to
achieve that goal.”
Besides Mr. Laffita, the other instructors were Lorne Sawula, Mark
Tennant, John Kessell, Israel Garcia, Rene Quintana, Justo
Morales, Francisco Cruz and Carl McGowan with the general
coordination of Miguel Beato Cruz.
