Players from eleven countries to action in Boca

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 14, 2008.- Pairs from
eleven countries will be taking part in the Boca Chica Beach
Volleyball Tournament, the first leg of the NORCECA Circuit
sponsored by Cerveza Presidente. The event to be held on March
20-23 has a total prize of US$10,000 for both genders.
Twelve tandems will compete in the men’s division while eight
combos will dispute the supremacy in the women’s bracket.
Countries with registered players for the tournament are:
Barbados, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala,
Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, Trinidad & Tobago and
United States.
The General Technical Meeting will take place on Thursday 19 at
18:30 local time at the FIVB Development Center in Santo Domingo.
The NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit continues in Guatemala (April
16-21) and El Salvador (April 23-28). The tour then will make
stops in Manzanillo and Guadalajara, Mexico on April 30-May 5 and
May 7-12 respectively.
The last two countries hosting the competition in both genders
will be Aruba (May 14-19) and Puerto Rico (May 21-26). The final
event will be in Trinidad & Tobago on May 29-June 2 only for
women.
The Circuit marks the beginning of the qualification process to
the Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Mayaguez,
Puerto Rico in 2010.
