More than 50 took part in Beach
Volleyball Clinic
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.- More than fifty school
teachers, junior players and coaches took part in the beach
volleyball clinic presented by Allison Wood of USA under the
auspices of the NORCECA Confederation and the FIVB Development
Center in the Dominican Republic.
The full-day event covered the fundamental principles and
techniques of beach volleyball as well as the rules of the game
and the organization process of the competitions.
Mr. Nelson Ramirez, Director of the Development Center, informed
that this is the second consecutive year this clinic has been
organized on the occasion of the annual meeting in Santo Domingo
of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Commission.
Wood is a former player of volleyball and beach volleyball who
participated professionally in Europe. She is a graduate of the
University of California at Irvine where she was voted her
school's top scholar-athlete in 1990. Currently, she is Director
of the International High Performance Beach at USA Volleyball and
Instructor at California State University, Dominguez Hills
