Tamara and Alvarez crowned on Cuban sands 

HAVANA, Cuba, March 19, 2007.- The duos of Tamara Larrea-Imada Estevez and Francisco Alvarez-Lian Sem were crowned as the monarchs of women and men respectively during the Beach Volleyball Cuban National Championship. The event took place on the sands of Rancho Luna of the Cienfuegos Province.

Tamara and Imada of Havana defeated Dalixia Fernandez-Kirenia Reina of Guantanamo in two sets. The bronze medal went to Ion Canet-Kirenia Ballar who beat Yarianna Machado-Nirian Sinal.

In the men’s division, Alvarez and Sem were stretched to three sets by the pair of Leonel Munder-Yoendris Quindelan in a battle of teams from Santiago de Cuba.

In the match for the bronze medal, Adrian Calderon and Yaser Perez defeated Danisbel Alfaro-Ivan Dipoted.
