The President of the International Volleyball Federation, Dr. Ruben Acosta Hernandez, expressed his sorrow and solidarity to his colleague Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA for the difficult situation of Dominican Republic due to the death of a vast number of people in the town of Jimani and the border with Haiti due to recent flooding as consequence of persistent downpours and the overflowing of a river.

In a letter from the FIVB headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, Acosta says that he has been informed by the news about the “tough situation that the Dominican Republic is going through due to the strong rain and flooding.”

“We want to express our most sincere sympathy to you and all those people of whom this situation has affected directly or indirectly. We accompany you in your sorrow and these hard moments.”
