St. Kitts will host a Level II Coaches Course

The St. Kitts Volleyball Association will be hosting a Level II Coaches Course from November 25 to December 7 of 2004.

The instructors of the course will be Mr. Max Meier, a Level III Instructor and Coach, and Dr. Christian Kroger, a Level II Instructor and coach.

This is one of two Level II Coaches Courses scheduled for the NORCECA region in 2004 with the other in El Salvador on September 5-12. Three courses of Level I will be hosted in Belize July 3-12, Nicaragua July 13-24 and Mexico July 19-30.

The St. Kitts’ course will be lectured in English with the other four in Spanish.

The objectives of these courses are:

A) To improve the knowledge and competence of coaches and teachers. B) To present the most recent trends of the modern game of Volleyball. C) To establish a unified system for training coaches in all zones. D) To enable each National Federation to develop national courses and E) To exchange ideas and experiences.

The broadest aim of the FIVB Development Programs is to improve the general standard of Volleyball throughout the world and, more specifically, to create the conditions under which each country, given its resources, is able to express its potential in competition and derive the maximum benefit possible from our sport.

Creative instruction is favored throughout our Development Programs.  This teaches participants to use the conditions they find in their respective countries, with ingenuity and imagination.

Apart from teaching units concerning theory, practice and the methodology of the game, lessons are offered which give ideas regarding popularity, structure and organization for the various areas within the Federations.
